Mattress Warehouse hits 100

Local mattress retailer Mattress Warehouse opened store number one-hundred this weekend at the Liberty Square Shopping Center in Teays Valley.

“I am so gratified to open our one hundredth store here in Teays Valley, so close to where I started 28 years ago,” said founder, owner and Chief Executive Officer Kim Knopf.

Knopf opened her first Mattress Warehouse store in South Charleston in 1983.

Knopf’s parent company, Innovative Mattress Solutions, headquartered in Winfield, does business as Mattress Warehouse and Sleep Outfitters in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

The company continues to operate on Knopf’s principle of providing customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices. Like other stores in the West Virginia-based company, the new state-of-the-art Teays Valley location will carry a full line of the world’s best mattresses -- Sealy, Simmons, Stearns & Foster, and Tempur-Pedic.

Knopf says the company carries the complete new Tempur-Pedic Contour line of beds as well as the exclusive Eco series memory foam beds, making the company a leader in the memory foam mattress category.

“We have showcase stand-alone stores in Louisville and Lexington. I thought we needed a showcase store here in the Charleston-Huntington market where it all started. And now we have it,” said Knopf.

The new store is located just off the I-64 Teays Valley exit, between Applebee’s and Advance Auto. Manager Gregg Church may be reached at 304-397-8003. Find out more at www.sleeponthebest.com.
