For more than 70 years, Serta has consistently made
investments into innovative features to ensure of comfort and durability
of every mattress they make. They invented the industry's first
tuftless innerspring mattress, the Perfect Sleeper, which remains
the best-selling mattress in America today.
In the 1970s, Serta was first to introduce a plusher Pillow Soft
mattress. This new construction countered the theory that you needed
a hard mattress for proper back support. In the 80s, Serta was first
to use convoluted foam in the upholstery of its mattresses. They
also introduced a continuous coiled innerspring in its Perfect Sleep
line that provided better support to the shoulders, back and hips.
The 1990s saw Serta introduce the most significant comfort innovation
in its history, Comfort Quilt. A combination of fibers and convoluted
foam in the quilt of the mattress, Comfort Quilt helps improve circulation,
which reduced tossing and turning for a restful night's sleep. Increasing
durability, Serta introduced the Triple Beam frame. Three layers
of prime lumber deliver more than twice the strength of the traditional
boxspring frames.
In 2000, Serta introduced an all new Perfect Night mattress with
several firsts, including the FreeFlex innerspring (mirrors the
shape of the human body and provides 63% more support where the
body needs it most), Sensifiber ( a temperature-regulating fiber
that helps to keep a comfortable sleeping surface throughout the
night), and the Quad Beam frame.
Inn 2003, Serta was the first national brand to offer open-flame
resistant mattress and in 2004, they introduced the International
Touch visco foam line of bedding with Fireblocker Construction.
By 2005, Fireblocker became standard in every US produced Serta
sleep set. |

Rolling peaks of convoluted foam provide gentle cushioning to
the body. Five zones of this convoluted foam provide better
comfort and support where it is needed most. The combination
of convoluted foam and fiber disperses weight and helps to improve
circulation in the shoulders, arms and hips.

Found in every Serta Perfect Sleeper, rows of continuous coils
run head to toe, providing support along the entire length of
the body. These continuous coils provide balanced support to
the body, rather than forcing the body to conform to the mattress.
This helps maintain natural spinal alignment. Because the coil
rows run head-to-toe, they respond to each sleeper individually. |
